Our tour starts by visiting Perast. Beautiful medieval town in the sunny heart of Boka Bay. The city with the most sunny hours in Europe during the year. In Perast it is baroque palaces that bear witness to the city's glorious past. A 55 meter high bell tower of the parish church of St. Nicholas from the 15th century rises into the sky of the town, which is now a listed building. In front of Perast are the two islands "Saint George" and "Madonna of the Rock" in the Bay of Kotor. The church of the Madonna of the Rock with its light blue domes seems to have grown together with the island. It owes its existence to an image of the Virgin that fishermen found on a reef here centuries ago. Here you can also see numerous works of the baroque painter Tripo Kokolja (1661 -1713). Our next destination is the gold of UNESCO - Kotor sights Kotor Kotor attracts most of the visitors in Montenegro with its beauty and historical buildings. The 4.5 km long city wall, which reaches a height of up to 20 meters, the winding streets, the churches and palaces played their part in Kotor being declared a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site. St. Triphun Cathedral - Sveti Trifun - Catholic Cathedral The Catholic Cathedral, which is certainly one of the most beautiful churches in Montenegro. The construction was erected in the 12th century. Inside you will find sarcophagi, a treasury and an altar worth seeing. Entry to the cathedral is subject to an admission fee. Palata Drago - Drago Palace The magnificent Drago Palace can be found right next to the Catholic Cathedral. It was built in the 12th century, making it one of the oldest palaces in Kotor. A visit from the inside is not possible here. Navy Museum at the Palata Grigurin The city's Navy Museum is housed in the Gregorina Palace. The baroque palace was built in the 18th century. Visiting the museum is only possible with admission. Sveti Luka - Church of St. Luke The chapel of St. Luke was built in the 12th century. Sveti Nikola - St. Nicholas Church The St. Nicholas Church was built in the early 1900s and replaced a building that was destroyed in a fire shortly before. Sveti Marija - St. Mary's Church Near the north gate is the small St. Mary's Church, the construction of which was started in the 13th century after a fire. It is dedicated to the nun Berta Hosanna, who was beatified. Citadel The citadel is the strongest fortress in the city. On a tour of the medieval and winding alley, you constantly discover new small shops or restaurants. Enjoy coffee in one of the cafés on the Main Square, or visit the Green Market just outside the walls of the City Gate.
